Wild animals need particular attention:

they require specific food carefully weighed in quantity.
Too much food or badly chosen food can make them ill, obese and even kill them (peanut “overdose” for example).
Animals also need to live in a clean and healthy environment, that is to say cleaned very regularly.
They also have to be observed attentively in order to detect very quickly diseases, conflicts between individuals to foresee females giving birth, etc...

This daily observation is essential because wild animals don’t show their health problems. It is therefore important to keep an eye on the slightest problem.

The people who work in the zoological park (keepers, veterinary surgeons...) are in charge of all this.

Some species are endangered species. They are carefully watched and they are often part of an “European Endangered Species Program” (EEP). To find out about them go to the "EEP" page.

Last of all, the staff is happy to obtain off-spring especially when endangered species are concerned. You can consult the pink book on the Birth" page.

During your visit at the Safari de Peaugres, you can see animal eating-times, the medical training of the sea-lions. For further information go to the "meeting point" page
